Learners aims of intentions

Learner statement of AIMS and INTENTIONS (10 MARKS)

Media language will be used in my cross-media production using lyrics in the music video and analysis of magazine covers and articles as I decode their meaning and purpose. Furthermore, the magazine articles will feature elements of media language. The purpose of media language in my cross-media production is used to market and advertise to a specific audience by engaging their interest and raise its awareness.

I will construct representations of individuals through my music video having a female protagonist as the main character throughout the music video and exploring her journey through the lyrics as a narrative performance is shown. The use of one gender represented in the music video is used as the lyrics represent a relationship based on a female point of view and fairly represents this by using a female protagonist. Additionally, the ethnicity of the female protagonist is a mixed-race female showcasing the diversity of this character and can be more relatable to a wider audience who may develop an understanding of the story.

I will target my intended audience of young adult’s mainly young females between the ages of 18 – 25 year olds through the visuals, costume and female protagonist used in the music video. For example the outfits used will resemble and represent my audience. The use of a female character also means it is relatable for the audience of females as they may choose to look up to the female character in different ways or feel they are similar through shared experiences.

My production will conform to the industry context by being relatable to the audience and the lyrics. Furthermore the production will use various settings and locations and elements of lip synching throughout.

My cross media production will demonstrate digital convergence through the creativity of the music video hitting a wide audience through the use of a female protagonist and the age group of the audience being reflected through the mise-en-scene of props makeup and outfits.
